This must be how some of y'all felt back in 2005. I'd hate for the reboot to flip that dynamic. A big part of what made the original series so compelling was that it was so preoccupied with what happens before and after conflicts. The only thing that concerns me is the synopsis-it sounds a bit too similar to the original outline (which wasn't terribly interesting compared to how the show evolved) and the focus on war.
And it sounds like it'll be more of a Battlestar-style reimaginining than a more conventional remake. basically the best possible way any B5 reboot could possibly go about existing. I can't imagine this new show will be better than the original, or even equally good - the original only was what it was due to the convergence of so many factors - but it is still very exciting! And not in the least because it more than triples the chances of Eaglemoss doing a B5 line!įrom what he's said on Twitter, JMS has more creative freedom/independence this time around, as well as a bigger budget and a guaranteed five-season run.
